Glenmorangie Garden

Description: The extensive garden which lies behind this small cottage comes to many as a genuine surprise with its wonderful native bush backdrop of the Ross Creek reserve.

Rhododendrons, maples and a Japanese garden predominate in the upper part of the garden along with a beautiful garden studio overlooking the cherry tree and azalea section.  Below, tracks wind down to a small deck, a perfect place to pause and enjoy the magnificent old kowhais and the prolific native bird life in this 'Valley of Tranquillity'.  Here also you can look down on the large rhododendrons including loderi, sinogrande and macebeanum species. The more adventurous will take the lower paths though these leading to the fernery and plantings of native shrubs, flaxes and grasses. Loop paths bring you back to the upper garden and a very cute garden shed with its own little deck and valley view.

Access: Parking for all vehicles on Rockside Road.  Please park well away from the nearby corner.

Wheelchair users welcome but access limited to upper deck and conservatory. Great views however!

Upper garden: Excellent access with gentle paths, steps and handrails.

Lower garden: Safe paths but some steepish steps with handrails.

Admission:  Adult $3.00,  Family $5.00
